This steam shower is cement poured with an in-line drain by Schluter/Kerdi for a no leak shower
For the best results of a no curb shower I recommend installing a Schluter in-line shower drain. This enables the installation of large format porcelain floor tile to be installed from the bathroom floor directly into the shower.
The under tile heated floor is from Schluter and is installed with the Schluter mat so that the wiring can be weaved throughout the bathroom floor.

Most new tile installations in bathroom remodels include porcelain tiles for the wall and tub tile installations.
After the cement is cured for the shower pan, the cement will be waterproofed with Schluter/Kerdi waterproofing membrane. RedGuard is also applied to the shower curb and walls.
When installing conventional sized Schluter shower drains we recommend sheet mounted tile. This allows the tile to follow the contour of the shower pan.

We expanded the shower back to front and side to side to the extent possible. The homeowner opted for a folding teak wood bench allowing for more standing room when the steam is not in use.
